Dumfries and Galloway College is delighted to announce an exciting work placement partnership with Gretna Green.
The five-Star Scottish tourism, shopping and wedding venue is giving DGC Hospitality students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the world-famous visitor attraction during a four-week placement as part of their college course.
Focusing on developing front-of-house skills two days per week, students will work in the food, beverage and catering areas across Gretna Green and have a chance to help staff in hotel restaurants and the retail food court.
DGC is proud to partner with Gretna Green — a family-owned and operated business which has been at the heart of Dumfries and Galloway local history for more than 130 years — and give students a wonderful opportunity to work in a world-class hospitality environment.
Isabel Rhodes, Chief Executive of Gretna Green, said: “We’re delighted to work with Dumfries and Galloway College to offer hospitality students work experience at Gretna Green.
“As part of their placement, we look forward to welcoming the students as colleagues of Gretna Green with the opportunity to learn their trade in our first-class food, beverage and catering settings; to interact with our visitors and guests and ultimately to experience what it’s like to deliver an exceptional customer service.
“It’s a great new partnership for our region working in collaboration with Dumfries & Galloway College and we’re happy to support students to build a career in hospitality.”
Joanna Campbell, DGC Principal, said: “Dumfries and Galloway College wishes to thank Gretna Green for giving our learners such a wonderful work placement opportunity.
“The partnership with Gretna Green will provide students with a platform to excel through working in a venue renowned for its excellence in the hospitality industry.”
