College Shortlisted for Green Energy Award

Dumfries and Galloway College has been shortlisted for a prestigious Scottish Renewables’ Green Energy Award.

Scottish Renewables has announced the full shortlist, whittled down from over 100 entries, for their upcoming Green Energy Awards which honour the people, organisations and communities going above and beyond towards achieving net-zero.

The South of Scotland college has been nominated in the Outstanding Project Award category for their Green Energy Centre.

This year’s winners will be announced at a black-tie awards ceremony at the EICC, Edinburgh on the evening of Thursday 2nd December.

Dumfries and Galloway College is extremely proud of its track record in promoting green skills and energy, which includes several initiatives on its campus, its new Green Skills Hub, and its recently published climate change action plan which commits the college to reaching net zero emissions by 2030.

Principal Joanna Campbell said:

“All of us at Dumfries and Galloway College are delighted to have been shortlisted for Scottish Renewables’ Green Energy Award 2021.

“Promoting our environmental expertise and encouraging sustainability are fundamental to everything we do and it’s testament to amazing work which goes on here that we’ve been nominated for these prestigious awards.

“I very much look forward to the awards ceremony and wish both our team and everyone else who has been shortlisted all the very best of luck.”
