At Dumfries and Galloway College, we offer a variety of salon services across our two campuses, available to the public, students, and staff during the academic term. Appointments are available to book and you can help our students gain invaluable skills and on-the-job training.
Our salons provide a diverse selection of beauty, nail, and hair treatments, along with holistic therapies. These salons are equipped with industry-standard tools and technology. Our students possess varying levels of expertise and are closely supervised by fully qualified Lecturers to ensure the delivery of professional services.
In our training salons, we offer competitively priced treatments using reputable product brands. Our students cultivate a welcoming, friendly, and professional ambience, always eager to welcome new clients.
Please note: a skin test is mandatory before any hair colouring treatments, and it should be conducted 48 hours before the actual treatment appointment. We regret to inform you that we cannot offer appointments to individuals under the age of 16. Additionally, a patch test is required before eye enhancement treatments and must be performed at least 48 hours before the scheduled treatment.

In our capacity as a learning and instructional setting, please take note that not all services and treatments are available throughout the entire academic year. Appointments may be subject to limited scheduling options, as they can be influenced by changing class timetables and requirements.
Treatments
To ensure that the treatments align with your specific needs and preferences, all appointments require a comprehensive consultation. The duration of appointments may vary depending on the service, and we kindly request that you allocate sufficient time for the entire treatment. Hair appointments, for instance, may extend up to four hours.
Cancellation
In the event of a cancellation, we ask that you provide at least 24 hours notice whenever possible. When you schedule your appointment, our Salon Assistants may request various details from you. Your cooperation in providing these details, such as contact telephone numbers and email addresses, is greatly appreciated. This helps ensure that we can reach you if necessary, thereby preventing any inconvenience.
Supporting our Students
It’s important to understand that, as a training environment, our students have limited experience and are here to receive guidance and practical training in their chosen fields. Therefore, as a client, your supportive attitude toward our students is highly valued.
