Cyber Security HND @ SCQF Level 8
Introduction
This course is for students who have completed HNC Cyber Security and who want to progress to a degree in a Computing discipline or into employment in computing-related disciplines.
This course is equivalent to second year of degree study, and we offer this course as a standalone HND or as part of a three-year programme which will allow you to graduate with the University of West of Scotland Batchelor of Engineering Cyber Security degree which is also available on campus at Dumfries & Galloway College.
Opportunities exist to enable learners to attend part-time on an individual subject basis.

Entry Requirements
The HND Cyber is a 30 credit, 2-year programme with the HNC Cyber Security course covering the first 15 credits over the first year.
If you are currently studying at the College, you will also require a positive Progressing Learner Reference

Information and Interview Session Requirements
There are no interview arrangements for this course due to entry criteria being progression from HNC Cyber Security.
Course Content
Study will include 15 Higher National credits such as: Computer Operating Systems, Wireless Device Security, Server Administration for Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, and One double credit Computing graded unit project or exam is also included in the programme.
Assessments
Assessments are ongoing throughout the year and include a final graded unit project or exam.
Progression
Successful completion of the full HND Cyber Security course will allow entry into the third year of the UWS Batchelor of Engineering Cyber Security degree, delivered at Dumfries & Galloway College or into second or third year of a university degree course of the learner’s choice.

This HND will prepare you for entry to a wide range of positions such as Technician level post in cyber or network security, Security testing, Software testing, Programming position
