Two National 5 qualifications at Grade C or above; OR
Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
Additional selection requirements
Where English is not your first language - ESOL Intermediate 2 certificate required.
You will be require to be 16 years of age by 23 August 2021 to undertake this course

Course Content
You'll study SQA accredited units, which include:-
- Gents Shaving: An Introduction
- Gents Cutting to Incorportae Clippering and Razoring
- Gents Scalp Massage

It is expected that successful completion of these SCQF Level 5 units, may lead to employment in a trainee position in the Hairdressing industry, specifically barbering.
This is not an award which is expected to take the student directly into full time employment as a fully qualified barber.
Ultimately, with further study and/or training there may be a range of self-employment opportunities and career options within the sector, for example:
Barber
Lecturer in Further Education
Trainer in Private Centre
Barber on cruise ships
Barber within large hotel groups
Barber within a Hairdressing Salon.
You will be able to apply for training positions within the Barbering industry and Further Education.
