Introduction
The programme will be delivered on a part-time basis and will allow candidates to flexibly access learning materials through a Virtual Learning Environment. Online and in person mentoring will be available to support candidates on their professional learning journey. The PDA Education Support Assistance Level 6 is suitable for staff already working within the Learning Assistant role and those who may wish to consider progressing their career in the future or candidates aspiring to work in an educational support role.

This course is primarily online through self-directed learning platform with in person or online mentoring support from lecturer. The course is over 1 year.
Entry Requirements
Current or previous experience in an educational/ childcare setting.
Candidates who are not currently employed in the childcare/educational setting are responsible for co-ordinating a placement or volunteering in a childcare/educational setting
Information and Interview Session Requirements
Candidates would apply via the college website and provide a supporting statement outlining how they meet the entry requirements including details of their experience and professional development.
Permission to undertake the study is also required from your line manager.
Course Content
The PDA Level 6 Group Award is achieved on the successful attainment of six mandatory units and one optional unit. In total, you will need to achieve 80 HN credits to achieve the full Group Award.

Assessments
Assessment approaches are varied and include practical observations of work/ placement, written assignments, portfolios of evidence, reflective accounts, projects and presentations.
