Entry Requirements
Employment or experience in the gas/plumbing industry as an operative with the ability to gather on-site experience of gas installation and maintenance
Trainees who lack gas training and experience will need to hold a recognised qualification in the mechanical services engineering sector (e.g. plumbing), or they will have gained a minimum of 2 GCSEs (Grade C) or equivalent, preferably English, Mathematics or relevant/appropriate experience or an entry assessment.
Course Content
Candidates will cover both practical and theory based work throughout the course. This course requires 40 days in a college environment plus ‘on the job’ training. Candidates must provide work based evidence under the supervision of a Gas Safe registered operative, which must be arranged by yourself.
Progression
On successful completion of this course candidates will be able to progress onto ACS gas assessment.
Career Prospects
Along with the relevant industrial experience successful candidates may gain employment as a Gas Engineer.

Once you have completed the registration form and your eligibility has been checked someone from DG Works (part of Dumfries and Galloway Council) will contact you to ask you to provide the following evidence:
